Dark forest chapter 5.

Rebecca searched all over for Sofia. Nobody seemed to know where she was. Everyone except Ernessa. But as Rebecca went to go find her, she remembered that Lucy said she was 'on a walk' yesterday when she barged into her room that night. Rebecca started running towards Ernessa's room.
"I just....Don't know why I did it... But I was just starving... For human blood... It was awful but it felt so good you know?" Lucy said.
"Death is a just part of life, Lucy. It's wonderful actually. Just think about it. Sofia moved to a better place and you helped her." Ernessa replied.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
"I'll get it," Lucy said, answering the door. "Rebecca? What're you doing here?"
"Have you guys seen Sofia? I looked everywhere." Rebecca answered.
Lucy felt her blood go cold. 'Shit. If you tell the truth, you're screwed.'
"No she hasn't been by here for quite some time. I think last we heard she was at the boys college." Ernessa answered.
But Rebecca didn't believe her. "Thanks." She said, walking away. After the door closed, Rebecca knew something was up.
'If Sofia was at the boys school, wouldn't she be returned back saying she entered and stayed at the wrong school? Did she get expelled because of that? Wouldn't her boyfriend cover for her?' Rebecca decided to sneak out after everybody's gone to bed. She had to know what happened to her friend.
While Rebecca stayed awake, waiting for the hallway to go quiet she realized she didn't hear Lucy's footsteps retreating back to her room. 'So she must've stayed in Ernessa's.' She thought. Rebecca didn't care anyway. Once the hallway was quiet enough, Rebecca got ready and went out into the hallway, quietly closing her door and heading towards the main doors. As she started leaving the school, she started to get an uneasy feeling in her gut that brought back a bad memory. As she entered the forest, she faintly heard two girls screaming over some unknown animal. When she got near the entrance, she decided to just head back.
'There's no way she could've gone here.' Rebecca thought. But as she was leaving, she could've sworn she heard someone inside.
It must've been around 12 am or somewhere around there when Rebecca woke up to knocking on her door. Dread suddenly started to kick in along with tiredness. She walked over to the door and once she opened it, she was relieved to see Lucy. "Thank God it's you. What're you doing up so late?" Rebecca replied.
"Couldn't sleep." Lucy said, walking into Rebecca's room and sitting on her bed.
"I searched all over for Sophia, Lu. I just couldn't find her." Rebecca replied.
Lucy sighed. "Rebecca, she probably just got expelled at that dumb Boy Scouts across the river." She replied.
"Would they do that?" Rebecca asked.
"Psh how should I know? We're not allowed over there." Lucy answered.
"Why're you in my room?" Rebecca asked.
"Well I wanted to thank you for saving me from that monster in the woods. But," Lucy answered, leaning over and kissing Rebecca on the lips. "You should get some sleep." She smiled. "Goodnight."
Rebecca sat and listened to Lucy's footsteps until it was quiet again. "You're welcome." She said quietly.
